The reason I would choose to fly a fighter, instead of a regular ship is that it gives the game a new dimention and the "in space" feeling would be more real. Coordinating attacks would be more than just using a web/scram and blowing up the bigges...

The fighter class ships are not all thet different from the fighter drones. They need bandwith to fly and are not equpped with a warpdrive. When abbandoned you would need to exit in your pod to escape the battlescene.

As I said, the fighters need bandwith, so that meens that only a carrier or mothership (maybe only motherships) can be the home of a fighter squadron. There, the ships can be fitted like frigates. However there are a few mayor differences. Because...

Personelly i really like to fly smaller ships. The Minmatar assaultships and heavy assaultships are awsome if you have some electronic attack backup because you will want be at close range. This will not be a problem if you speedtank the vessel. ...
